While Kevin mentions Hoot Suite, there are plenty of other applications that will do this as well. The one that I currently use is Tweet Deck.

Now to be brutally honest, I have not tried Hoot Suite yet, and this may be the better application as I do trust Kevin’s recommendations, so will probably have to check it out.

As a person who has multiple niche related twitter accounts, these tools are invaluable.

In this post I am going to cover setting up a Paypal button for your niche site sales page from scratch.

The first thing you need to do is login to your Paypal account. You do need to be logged in for this to work.

1) Once you are logged into Paypal you will need to click on the tab at the top that says ‘Merchant Services’.

2) Once on this screen you can either click on the ‘Buy Now Button’ (2) near the top of the page or you can scroll down a little bit and click on the ‘Buy Now Button’ (3) under the ‘Create Button’ menu.

Step 1: Choose button type and enter payment details

After you click on the ‘Buy Now Button’ from the front page of ‘Merchant Services’ you will see the screen below.

1) You will want to leave this selected as ‘Accept payments for’: Products

2) Make sure you select ‘No; create a ‘Buy Now’ button.

3) Enter the name of your product. (This is what your customer will see on the Paypal page when they go to pay for your item, so make it intuitive.

4) This is an optional field and you do not need to put anything here. If you are using an accounting program and have product id’s setup for all of your products then you might want to put that here.

5) This is where you will put the price that you are charging for your product. Since Paypal will now save your button you can go back and change this at a later time if your like.

6) Make sure you select ‘Secure merchant account ID’. This will create button code that will not have any personally identifiable information in it.

Step 2: Track inventory, profit, and loss.

At the bottom of Step 1 you will see 2 blue bars. You will need to click on each of them to expand these bars and follow each of the next two steps.

1) Make sure this is checked so that your button is saved for later use if needed.

2) Select this if you are having a limited quantity sale or if you wish to track inventory (useful for a physical product like CD’s or DVD’s. You can then set your starting quantity and alert level.

Step 3: Customize advanced features.

This is where you will setup the links back to your download page.

1) Make sure this is set to ‘No’. You don’t want people being able to change the order quantity.

2) Set this to ‘No’ unless you want people to be able to add notes to the purchase.

3) Since we are setting this up for a digital download you would want this set to ‘No’, however if you are selling physical products you will need the physical address and would want to set this to yes.

4) This is where you want the customer to return to if they cancel the payment process before they complete it. I normally set this to the websites home page/sales page, but if you are selling multiple products from the same site you might want to direct them back to the product they came from.

5) This is going to be the actual download page that you want to send your buyer to after they have completed the purchase through Paypal. I normally add some random characters onto the end of this so that it is more difficult for someone to guess and just be able to get to the download page without paying. (NOTE: This has to match exactly with what you have it named on your site).

6) You should never have to worry about this field unless you are trying to integrate with a third party script and then the scripts instructions will tell you EXACTLY what to put in this field.

Step 4: Adding the button code to your site.

Now you have to copy the button code to your webpage.

1) When you click in this field the entire set of text should highlight. You will just need to take this text and copy it to your webpage using your HTML editor of choice. Make sure you are copying it into the HTML view and not the WYSIWYG view. (I will expand on this in another lesson if needed)

2) This is where the code will be that distinguishes your button code from all the rest. DO NOT change this code!

Step 5: Changing the payment button graphic

Finally, once you have your button code setup on your webpage, you might want to change to one of the payment graphics that comes with your niche website.

To do this you will need to change the part of the code below that is highlighted with the path to the graphic you are wanting to use.

I.E. – http://www.mysite.com/image/paymentbutton.gif (or .JPG)

Conclusion:

Hopefully this has helped you somewhat in learning how to setup your Paypal payment button.

If you still have any questions, or any part of this was not clear to you, please leave a comment below.

If you liked this lesson and there are other areas that you would like to see some instruction on, also please leave me a comment below and if it is an area that I am familiar with I will create some instructions similar to what I have done here.

Just wanted to post this and let you know that I am offering a 30 day trial of Niche Site Club for only $1 for the rest of the month of December.

I know that December is a rough time financially for most people so I wanted to do my part to make sure you still had the opportunity to check out Niche Site Club without feeling that you are cutting into your Christmas spending budget.

With Niche Site Club, you get a complete niche website complete with a list of keywords already done for you, a PLR ebook for you to edit and sell, and at least 25 PLR articles for blog posts, Squidoo lenses, Hubpages, or where ever you want to create backlinks to your niche site.

You also get a professionaly done and matching sales page, thank you page, Wordpress theme, affiliate graphics (so you can setup your own affiliate program selling your ebook), and more…

As a member of Niche Site Club you will also have access to over 8 hours (and growing) of videos relating to niche marketing, keyword research, and niche research. I am currently working on adding a set of 20 videos on setting up and using Wordpress as well, so you have no excuse not to put the matching Wordpress template that I am giving you to use.

On a side note:

I just got an email from Liz Tomey this afternoon and she is selling just one of the 4 different sets of videos that are included in your Niche Site Club membership for you to watch at your leisure. Get this, she is selling this set of videos for $27 right here:

http://www.keywordhowto.com/

One more thing:

As a member of Niche Site Club, you will also be able to sign up for the affiliate program inside of the membership and promote Niche Site Club to others and make 75% commission off of your sale of recurring memberships. You will also make 50% commission off of other products that will be sold through the Niche Site Club affiliate program.

P.S. I have included the link to Liz’s sales page for the videos for no other reason that to make a point as to the value of Niche Site Club. This is a raw link and NOT an affiliate link.

In my last post I told you about my new membership site, Niche Site Club.

Well today I’m going to talk a little bit about how Niche Site Club came to be.

It all started when I got an email from a marketer that I have known of for quite some time. I had been a member of one of his membership sites for nearly 2 years and have been on his mailing list/newsletter for almost as long.

The person to whom I am referring to is Paul Evans and the email was about this new product he had just created called ‘Simple Six Figures‘. Now I honestly don’t know what really drew me to this one particular product, but I am glad that whatever it was did it’s thing.

I picked up Simple Six Figures and started going through the videos. Now anyone that knows Paul will immediately recognize the southern accent and his unique way of taking something that at times seems to be very difficult and making it seem, well, simple.

These videos are no different.

Paul takes the process of membership sites and takes you through a very simple process of setting up a membership site that will only take you a few hours (if that) per month to maintain. Now obviously the beauty of this is that you can create multiple membership sites and easily maintain them yourself.

Well anyway, as I was watching these videos, I began to get idea after idea with Niche Site Club being the first. I had just started selling complete niche website packages on a individual site basis and this seemed to fit perfectly with what I was already doing. So I followed along and set up my first membership site.

And I already have ideas for two more at least. My current plan is to set up a membership site every three months.

Why so long between sites?

This allows me to get the site built (which actually happens very quickly) and spend the rest of the time promoting the site and building up my member base. At that point the affiliate side of things will kind of take over and the current members will be promoting to others which in turn will keep my member base growing with just an occasional promotion from me.

OK, so I promised in my last post I would walk you through how the site is setup.

First of all it is done using Wordpress. Yup, it is running on a free content management platform, and one of the best and easiest to use at that.

All I needed to do was add in my content just by adding a few pages to my Wordpress blog.

OK, so I can hear you asking. “How do I protect my content”?

So here is where you will probably want to fork over a little bit of change. Now you don’t have to. Paul shows you a way to do a membership site just by using an autoresponder, but I wanted mine to be a little more flexible.

The product that Paul recommends and which is the one I used is Wishlist Member. This is nothing more than a Wordpress plug-in that takes a Wordpress blog and turns it into a full fledged membership site. It integrates with several payment processors, including Paypal, Clickbank, and several others. I am currently using Paypal, but am working on getting it moved over to Clickbank so that I can incorporate their affiliate capabilities.

Wishlist Member is a fantastic product and one that I am going to be using for all of my coming membership sites.

So there you have it, a full fledged membership site in no time.

In my next post I will give you a look inside WishList Member and how I am using it in my membership site Niche Site Club.

OK, so if you’ve been reading the previous posts then you already know what niche marketing is.

If you don’t know then please go back and read the previous posts.

However, it’s possible that you are still not quite sure of the advantages of niche marketing and how it can work for you.

In this post, I’m going to explain a little bit about what niche marketing is for those who don’t quite understand it. Through the explanation I’ll be able to better show you the advantages of niche marketing.

As we’ve already discussed, niche marketing is just the opposite of mass marketing. Most of us know that mass marketing is marketing to the largest amount of people in all situations and lifestyles and from all backgrounds. Niche marketing is the exact opposite of that because your focus is on a much smaller group of people who are interested, need, and who actually want your product.

Now, you’re probably asking, “Why would I want to focus on a smaller group of people when I’ve learned that the more people who see my product the better my chances of making a sale?”

I can certainly understand your thinking, so in the next couple of paragraphs I’m going to help you understand why this marketing tactic works and the advantages of niche marketing over mass marketing.

Want Not Waste Not

Niche marketing works because you’re focusing all your effort reaching those people who have the money to buy your product or service, who are interested in what you have to sell, and who need your products or services.

Why waste time, money and efforts on people who are not even interested, and most likely never will be, in what you have to say and offer? Remember, it’s about working the least amount of time and making the most amount of money.

Saves Time

When you advertise to people who have no interest in what you have to offer, you’re throwing money down the drain. Not only are you wasting money, but your also wasting precious time.

Remember, time is money in business.

So even if you spend nothing on advertising you do spend time getting the word out. You’ll spend less time and money in your marketing efforts when you niche down.

Make More Money

Finally, there’s the added benefit of making more sales to people who actually want what you have to offer.

So, not only will you be saving money on marketing campaigns, your chances of making a sell increases dramatically.

Soon, you’ll be selling so many of your products, you’ll have to consider increasing your staff and may even want to narrow your niche down further so that you can enjoy living life instead of working so hard all the time.

In my next post I will be covering some examples of niche marketing online.

Until then, have a great day and thanks so much for reading!

When it comes to the Internet there are one heck of a lot of terms being thrown around and there may be many times when you find yourself having no idea what those terms mean or how they apply to marketing online.

One such word is “niche.” Some of us may know what a niche is in terms of biology or even the corporate world. You might say “She found her niche in nursing.” While this is technically a correct definition of niche in everyday use, maybe it’s not quite so accurate regarding the world of Internet marketing.

In the world of Internet marketing the definition of niche takes on a whole new meaning. Having a clear meaning will help you focus and market to those people who are interested in and wanting to purchase your product or service, which will increase the success of your online business.

Here is how Wikipedia defines niche as it pertains to the online world. “A niche market is the subset of the market on which a specific product is focusing on.”

Now, while that may still seem a bit unclear, basically it tells you a niche is just a smaller portion of a larger piece. In this case a market.

So, just how do you go about defining your niche so that you can focus and reach your target market? You basically begin with a large market and start narrowing it down into several possible smaller niche markets.

Take for instance work at home moms (WAHM). There is a whole huge world of moms out there that work from home, either online, in direct sales or running some other type of business. While that is a niche, that is a very large, or broad, niche and you’re not going to be able to target individual work at home moms very well.

However, by breaking down this niche even further, you will begin to see the different sub-niches, or micro niches as some people call them, possible in the work at home mom arena. Some examples are:

• WAHMs with newborns
• WAHMs who are also homeschoolers
• Virtual Assistants WAHMs
• Direct Sales WAHMs
• WAHMs who help other WAHMs be successful

This list can go on and on. There are probably thousands of different micro niches under the work at home mom umbrella. The point is that you can increase your chances of success by focusing in on very specific areas of your niche.

As you can see, finding the right niche for you will be determined by how well you are able to define your niche to reach the target market of people you wish to promote your products or services to. The more detailed and specific your niche, the more success you will have.

In the next post I will cover some of the advantages of Niche Marketing.
